This is an RPG about some friends living in the East Village in the 80s. In case you don't know, the East Village has quite a bit of crime. In this RPG, some friends try to find a job, and find their calling in some sort of art. It could be filming, songwriting, anything that's an art.

Name: Maureen Johnson
Age (17-22): 20
Personality: She can be a drama queen, and loves protesting. Her friends are very important to her, and she will never abandon them. She annoys them with her drama sometimes, though. She will go to great lengths to get her thoughts out. What is seen as going too far to other people is nowhere near too far for her.
Biography: She grew up in an isolated home in the West Village, and moved to the East Village when she was 18.
Art That Your Character Pursues: Performance Art
Writing Sample: "Excuse me, we are having technical difficulties. We will start this ride again as soon as we can". Mimi looked at how high she was, deciding whether or not to jump, Roger swung the chair, Maureen put on a big act ("We're all gonna die! we're all gonna DIE!"), Collins and Angel started dancing (because the author was being very random), and Mark just kept looking out the window, searching for a plane. Finally, the Ferris Wheel started moving again. Mark felt his stomach almost come out of his throat (but in a good way) and joined Angel and Collins, they were still dancing. Maureen started mooing, Roger and Mimi stood on top of the chair like the Peter Pan moment that would happen a couple of decades later.

Mark decided that he always wanted to remember this, dancing with 2 of his best friends, mooing with one of the others, and watching Roger and Mimi share a small, lovely private moment. At this moment, Mark felt happy. He never wanted to lose any of his friends, ever. And in his mind, that's way it was always going to be. At his house later, Mark had already planned dancing on the tables.

Name: Rain Shengmi
Age (17-22): 22
Personality: Rain is a very mysterious, brooding, and quiet girl. She often stays away from large crowds and prefers to hang out with one or two friends at a time. She doesn't talk much, so she uses mostly hand gestures.
Biography: Rain's last name means mysterious in Chinese. She descends from many generations of Chinese ancestors. Her grandparents were born in Cambodia, as was Rain. Rain grew up in Cambodia until she was 15, and her parents passed away. She was left with a baby sister of 3 years and her dying grandparents. She decided to send her baby sister to a foster home and give her grandparents money to get into a senior home. Then, she bought an airplane ticket and flew to America to pursue her dream of becoming a famous singer.
Art That Your Character Pursues: Singing and songwriting
Writing Sample: Rain sat quietly with her sister, Margaret, on the rocking chair her grandfather had built. Margaret was weeping quietly on Rain's shoulder and Rain was staring straight ahead at the blank wall. They could hear the voices that belonged to her grandparents, whispering quietly about the incident that happened. The incident...when Rain's mother and father died.
RPG Experience: I've joined many different RPGs on VMKForums and you've been in most of them with me =)
Picture: Rain has black hair that goes down to her hips that she puts down. She has dark brown almond shaped eyes. She is very tall and slim, and she usually looks very sad.

Name: Marisa Coulter (Different character, not evil in this.)
Age (17-22):22
Personality: Very intelligent and clever. She is known for her plantinum blonde beauty, but she definetly doesn't go under the circumstances as a dumb blonde. Sometimes she can be wicked and perhaps cold-hearted, but only to stick up for her friends.
Biography: Born in Oxford, England, and still has a very high English accent. She never really knew her father, who was always traveling from one place to the next, as a captain for the British Navy. Her mother, growing tired of waiting around for him to come back from sea, decided to pack up her things, take her only daughter, and go to America without leaving a trace. Marisa was deeply torn by this, for she had never felt terribly close to her mother, yet had a special bond with her father. Seeing this, she moved out on her own to East Village when she was 16, and continued her schooling there.

Art That Your Character Pursues: Creating art with water colors, pastels, colred pencils, and in some cases charcoal pencils. She also enjoys to become a fiction writer to write about everything she wishes was real.
Writing Sample: (This is from a fanfiction for the His Dark Materials series, I had the idea for) Rosetta and Alana looked up from the muddy claybeds. Dark figures swooshed and swirled against the afternoon sky. Apparently, Rosetta and Alana weren't the only ones that noticed, because at leats ten other gyptian children looked up and threw mud up at the sky, thinking that'd they'd actually hit one of the figures. One of them came down closer, and everyone could see her cloud-pine branch. She was a witch. Gyptians had nothing against witches, they just rarely saw them. For, you and me would realise it was no other then Serafina Pekalla, queen of the witches at Lake Enra. And we would have clearly been able to make out that she came for a purpose. However, we wouldn't have known she came for a purpose involving Rosetta. Involving Rosetta's family.
RPG Experience: Too many Sound of Music RPGs, Can You Escape, Pleasantville, and then along time ago I did this weird one for The Chronicles of Narnia and I don't even remember what it was called because I was like, 11. I also have a few.. Starwars ones that I kinda don't wanna mention but, I just did.

Name: Asriel Belecqua
Age (17-22): 22
Personality: Bold, intelligent, determinated, and strong. Has a way of getting anything he wishes, other then Marisa's heart..
Biography: He's know Marisa since she first moved to America in the second grade, and right from the start he had a kiddy-crush on her. Asriel has liven with his grandmother his entire life, when his gramother died he left his hometown to pursue a career in archaeology/geology yet, found hiself going to East Village to pursue the only thing he ever really wanted, the love of his life.
Art That Your Character Pursues: Does.. um.. Marisa count as art? Anyways, or archaeology/geology. So, he decides to study in East Village then eventually leave to start his career.
Writing Sample: (I'll just put in another part from that weird Golden Compass fanfiction) Serafina Pekalla looked down at the little girl, she was much younger then Lyra had been when they first met. Since, Lyra was 12, and Rosetta was only 8.

Name: Angel Dumott Schunard
Age (17-22): 21
Personality: A very sweet, loving person. Sometimes she cares a bit too much and forgets to look after herself. Or she is naive. Other than that, She is the type of person you'd love to have as a friend. She's not a biological girl- she's a drag queen.
Biography: She was born in Puerto Rico an orphan. Her parents died right after her birth and Angel never knew why. She lived with her grandmother until she got her own loft. When he was eleven (And still referred to as a boy) he joined a gang and almost died. When he was fifteen he met his best friend, Mimi Marquez. She is, sadly, infected with HIV.

Personality: She is always looking to have fun and, like Angel, is infected with HIV. She decides to live every moment as if it was her last, a motto known as No day but today. She's very outgoing , and is Angel's best friend. The two always have fun together.
Biography: She was born in the East Village, but she moved to the suburbs, where she met Angel, who was trying on wigs at a store. They became immediate friends.
