Explanation of Weird Creepy Poem Thing
The Magdalene Institutions.
Disclaimer: The following is copied and pasted from a Ring fanfiction called Simple Gifts on Fanfiction.net. I DID NOT WRITE THIS. IT IS SIMPLY AN EXPLAINATION OF THE MAGDALENE INSTITUTIONS:
They are controlling any woman they perceived as a threat to their social order. Imagine this, Claire." Claire's mom said. "You’re a young woman living away from home. Maybe you’re working as a maid in somebody’s home. You have friends, both male and female, who you like to do things with after work. You’re young, and you like to listen to wild new music. You wear bright colors, you laugh and flirt. Maybe your friendships are so innocent that you’ve never said or done a thing you wouldn’t say or do at Church in front of your grandmother. Or maybe not. What you do behind closed doors is nobody’s business, right?

“But someone doesn’t think so, and they report you. The next thing you know, you go in to work to find your employer sitting there with a look on her face like you tracked in dog dirt, and a strange woman with a mouth like she’s been sucking lemons is with her. ‘That’s her,’ says your employer to the woman, ‘I had no idea she was that sort of girl, or I wouldn’t have asked her into my home.’

“‘You can’t always tell by looking,’ says the stranger. ‘She’ll be taken well in hand by the sisters at the Magdalene Institutions, you can be sure of that! The wickedness will be scrubbed out of her soul. Come.’ she says to you.

“‘What? Wait! What did I do?’ you ask. ‘Let me call my mother!’

“But you don’t get to make that phone call, and when they explain what you’re supposed to have done, you can’t believe it. The next thing you know, you’re in the Magdalene Institutions."

Personality: She refers to herself as being "so far from the mainstream, I can't even see the mainstream." She has a good sense of humor, and loves to have fun. She can be naive sometimes, or too confident in herself. She does know, though, that she can see the dead. She'll see someone who will explain her death to her, then when she does research, she'll find that all of the information was spot-on. Sometimes she'll think she's more strong, or intelligent, or something, than she really is. She hates the Magdalene Institutions.
Why Are You in the Magdalene Institutions: For not following the mainstream, but mostly for claiming to see spirits.
